What to Wear:

Warm layers, gloves and hats. Wool socks and sturdy shoes are helpful. Nights can be very cold. Bring a flashlight. We will provide red cellophane covers to protect your night vision.

  • Monday, 10/1/2018 - Night Sky Fall Series
    Time: 7 PM - 12 Midnight
    • Learn the constellations, stars, deep sky objects, and more. Includes observing. (Class #2 of 6)

      Fall Season Pass $75, (for all six Fall classes) may be purchased via
      Brown Paper Tickets.

      Tickets for individual classes are $23 each and may be purchased via
      Brown Paper Tickets.
  • Saturday, 10/6/2018 - Public Solar Observing
    Time: 11 AM - 3 PM
    • Come and view our closest star and learn about sunspots, prominences, flares and more. We observe with both visible light and radio telescopes.
  • Saturday, 10/6/2018 - Public Star Party
    Time: 8 PM - 12 Midnight
    • Presentations on astronomical topics are given in the classroom throughout the course of the evening. Starting at dusk, the Observatory's three main telescopes are open for your viewing. Docents set up additional telescopes in front of the building. Friendly and knowledgeable docents are available to answer your questions.

      $3.00 per adult, under 18 FREE.
      (Plus State Park Parking Fee $8.00 per vehicle.)

    • Come join RFO at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds for Science Discovery Day! We'll have solar telescopes set up for you to view the Sun safely along with other fun activities for kids and adults!
