What to Wear:

Warm layers, gloves and hats. Wool socks and sturdy shoes are helpful. Nights can be very cold. Bring a flashlight. We will provide red cellophane covers to protect your night vision.

    • RFO celebrates Astronomy Day and International Observe the Moon Night with activities in and in front of the observatory! In addition to our regularly scheduled Solar Observing, docents will be on hand from 11AM on with demonstrations and hands-on astronomy activities for all ages.

      At 3PM, activities will continue inside the classroom as we transition to Lunar Observing: Lunar expert Rob Davis will be on hand to give presentations about the Moon, with the Public Star Party beginning at 8PM.

In case the sky conditions are bad on 10/20, a "rain check" is scheduled for Wednesday 10/26.
