RFO docents showing event goers how to use their telescopes.

Do you have a telescope at home that you just don’t use because you’re not sure how it works? Or, are you looking to purchase or upgrade a telescope but don’t know where to start? Then this class is for you! We will start with educating you on how telescopes work, the pros and cons of different telescopes, items to consider when purchasing, or upgrading a scope, and the basics of telescope operations. You’ll also receive one-on-one time with some of our knowledgeable docents who will assist you in operating your scope and can also show you what they can see through their own personal telescopes. Please email Stephanie at sd at rfo.org to inform us what type of scope you are bringing prior to the event so we can be best prepared to help you.

We usually offer this class two to four times per year, and upcoming dates can be found at rfo.simpletix.com

Please note, VIP tickets allow participants to park at the top parking lot next to the observatory, where they can unload their telescope next to their car. Regular Admission tickets will park in the white barn parking area and will need to carry their scope up to the top parking lot (about an 1/8 of a mile). Costs include the Sugarloaf Ridge State Park parking fee, and allows all members of a family coming with their scope.
