Striking Sparks winners and students with an interest in astronomy gather for scheduled meetings throughout the school year. Virtual meetings occur the first Friday of every month at 7pm and occasionally at Sonoma County Libraries. Check the RFO calendar for upcoming dates or contact Advisor Nancy Cummings at ncummings at rfo.org. Meetings are geared to students from 4th through 9th grade, but everyone is welcome.
Young Astronomers are encouraged to participate by bringing their own telescopes to school Astronomy Night events and the Robert Ferguson Observatory (RFO). There are docents at the RFO who can provide assistance in learning the night sky and how to operate the telescopes.
