Students from 4th grade through high school are invited to join the Young Astronomers Club! We meet virtually on the first Friday of every month at 7 PM to explore the stars, share the latest in space exploration, and dive into all things astronomy. Each meeting begins with a look at the planets and constellations visible that month, followed by updates on upcoming rocket launches. We then dive into a changing astronomy topic, with time for open discussion afterward. Club members also have the opportunity to take on leadership roles by helping present segments during meetings.

Young Astronomers are also encouraged to participate by bringing their own telescopes to school Astronomy Night events and to the Robert Ferguson Observatory (RFO), where docents are available to help students learn the night sky and operate telescopes. Occasionally, we host in-person sessions at Sonoma County Libraries. Check the RFO calendar for upcoming dates!

Whether you’re a student ready to reach for the stars, a parent supporting a young explorer, or an educator looking for ways to spark curiosity — the Young Astronomers Club is the perfect launch pad. Come join us!
