What:

  • A short guided hike with various storytelling stops along the way
  • Warm up with cocoa (or tea or a warm beverage of your choice) at the Observatory
  • Telescope viewing and stargazing for the rest of the night!

Kick off the night with a short, guided hike along a portion of our captivating Planet Walk, where you’ll encounter scale models of many of our solar system’s planets, each with its own unique story. As the stars begin to sparkle, we’ll gather for an in-depth stargazing and storytelling session led by experienced astronomers who’ll point out constellations, planets, and celestial objects.

The event’s highlight is telescope viewing through our powerful observatory telescopes, providing a chance to get up-close views of the astronomical objects visible in the sky that month which could include the Moon’s craters, Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s moons, and distant galaxies. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and guide you through the night sky’s best features.

And of course, stay warm with complimentary cups of rich cocoa as you marvel at the universe above. Whether you’re an avid stargazer or a curious beginner, Cosmos and Cocoa promises an evening filled with wonder and warmth.

No prior experience necessary, and all ages are welcome. Dress warmly and bring a flashlight with a red light setting (no white light allowed). Red light flashlights will also be available for purchase.
